Welcome to Columbus Yacht Rental Dubai. By accessing this website, placing a booking, or boarding any of our chartered yachts or boats, you (“the Client”, “Lead Charterer”, or “Guest”) agree to be legally bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully prior to confirming your reservation.

1. General & Legal Domicile (UAE Law)

  • Country of Domicile: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is our country of domicile. This website and all charter contracts are governed by and construed in accordance with the federal and local laws of the UAE. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with this website or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UAE courts.

  • Age Eligibility: Minors under the age of 18 are prohibited from registering as a user of this website, transacting, or placing bookings independently.

  • OFAC Sanctions Clause: Columbus Yacht Rental will NOT deal with or provide any services/products to any OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) sanctioned countries in strict accordance with UAE federal law.

  • Linked Sites: This website may contain links to third-party websites. We have no control over Linked Sites and accept no responsibility for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

2. Booking Confirmation & Online Payments

  • Accepted Currencies: We accept online payments using Visa and MasterCard credit/debit cards in AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham).

  • Payment Terms: A minimum of 50% of the total charter amount is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The remaining balance must be settled at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

  • Payment Security: Details submitted during payment are provided directly to our payment gateway provider via a secure, encrypted connection.

  • Record Retention: The cardholder must retain a copy of transaction records, merchant policies, and booking rules.

  • Multiple Charges: Purchases processed through credit/debit cards may result in multiple postings on the cardholder’s monthly billing statement depending on the transaction structure.

3. Charter Inclusions & Guest Capacity

  • Standard Inclusions: Unless specified otherwise in a custom package, all private yacht charters include:

    • Licensed Professional Captain & Crew.

    • Complimentary Refreshments (Bottled drinking water, ice, and soft drinks).

    • Onboard sound system and safety equipment.

    • Fuel costs for standard charter routes.

  • Guest Capacity Confirmation: The Client must confirm the exact number of guests accompanying them at least 24 hours prior to departure. Under no circumstances may the maximum registered guest capacity of the vessel be exceeded.

4. Passenger Identification & Coast Guard Compliance

  • Mandatory Identification: As mandated strictly by the UAE Coast Guard and Dubai Maritime Authority, ALL guests must present valid original identification before boarding the vessel:

    • Tourists: Original Passport.

    • UAE Residents: Original Emirates ID, Passport, or UAE Driving License.

  • Failure to Comply: Failure to present valid physical ID will result in denial of boarding for that individual. Fines imposed by local authorities for missing IDs (up to AED 1,500 per person) will be charged directly to the Client under the Damage Waiver Agreement.

5. Safety Regulations & Guest Conduct

  • Captain’s Authority: Clients and guests must acknowledge and respect the Captain’s sole authority at all times. All navigational decisions, safety procedures, and use of onboard equipment remain strictly under the Captain’s control.

  • Anti-Social & Dangerous Behavior: Any reckless, anti-social, abusive, or illegal behavior will not be tolerated. The Captain has full authority to cut the trip short or terminate the charter immediately without any refund, and notify local marine police if necessary.

  • Forbidden Onboard Activities:

    • Jumping Off the Yacht: Jumping off the vessel while underway or at anchor is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of the charter.

    • Restricted Swimming: Swimming after sunset or swimming further than three (3) meters from the vessel is prohibited by law.

    • Third-Party Water Toys: Participating in Jet Ski or water toy activities operated by unauthorized third parties during your charter is strictly forbidden unless booked directly through us to safeguard marine insurance compliance.

    • Littering: Throwing trash or waste into Dubai waters is illegal and strictly penalized.

6. Children, Attire & Onboard Policies

  • Children Policy: * Children under 10 years of age must wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times while on deck or in the water.

    • All guests under 21 years old must be supervised by an adult at all times. Captain and crew are responsible for vessel navigation and safety, not childcare.

    • Infant children (below 1 year) are permitted onboard subject to prior notification.

  • Attire & Footwear: High heels and outdoor shoes deface yacht decks and interior flooring. Guests are required to remove footwear prior to boarding. Soft clean sandals or slippers may be brought to wear onboard if permitted by the crew.

  • Pet Policy: Pets and animals of any kind are strictly prohibited on board.

  • Smoking Policy: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the yacht’s interior cabin. Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor deck areas.

7. Catering Policy

  • Self-Catering: If arranging your own food, guests are permitted to bring dry items only (e.g., snacks, sandwiches, pizzas). Guests must bring their own disposable cutlery and plates.

  • Catering Orders: Catering orders or amendments booked through us must be finalized at least 24 hours prior to departure. Catering fees are non-refundable once confirmed.

8. Damage Waiver, Security Deposit & Penalties

  • Security Pre-Authorization: Upon arrival at the marina, the Client may be requested to provide a credit card pre-authorization or cash security deposit of AED 2,000.

  • Liability for Damages: The Client is fully responsible for any damage caused to the vessel, interior fittings, or equipment resulting from negligence, reckless behavior, or failure to follow crew instructions. Repair/replacement costs will be assessed and deducted from the deposit or charged to the credit card on file within 24 hours of notification.

  • Official Fine Examples (Passed directly to Charterer):

    • Missing Guest Identification: AED 1,500 per person.

    • Unauthorized Swimming during Restricted Timings/Areas: AED 5,000.

    • Littering in Waters: AED 5,000.

    • Jumping off Vessel while Underway: AED 10,000 (plus immediate charter termination).

9. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Client Cancellations:

Should the Client wish to cancel a confirmed booking, the following cancellation fee retention policy applies:

  • More than 72 Hours prior to charter: 30% of total charter amount retained.

  • 48 to 72 Hours prior to charter: 50% of total charter amount retained.

  • Less than 24 Hours prior to charter (or No-Show): 100% of total charter amount retained (No refund).

Company Cancellations (Force Majeure):

If Columbus Yacht Rental is forced to cancel or postpone a charter due to bad weather warnings issued by the UAE Coast Guard, mechanical failure, or new legal/operational restrictions beyond our control, we will offer the Client:

  1. Rescheduling the charter to an alternative mutually agreed date/time.

  2. Upgrade options to an equivalent standard vessel if available.

  3. A 100% full refund of the charter fee paid.

Refunds will be processed strictly through the Original Mode of Payment.

10. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

  • Columbus Yacht Rental, its owners, captains, and crew shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, additional expenses, personal injury, sickness, or death resulting from voluntary participation in recreational water activities onboard or off the vessel (including swimming, fishing, or water sports).

  • Guests participate in all charter activities entirely at their own risk.
